Interim Patient Registration Supervisor

Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corp Toksook Bay, AK (Onsite) Full-Time

Position Summary:



To improve the health care delivery systems of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital by providing support to the medical care providers in the delivery of coordinated care to all clients in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta area.

Responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes safety and well being of all patients in the assigned department.

  • Expected to maintain good interdepartmental and intradepartmental communication to promote better patient care.
  • Maintains open communication with department staff to facilitate performance improvement.  May assume duties for the role of Admission Director when needed.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, knowledge of hospital and financial practice, and knowledge of regulatory requirements are necessary for this position.

The Registration Manager would directly supervise department employees.  Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: Associate Degree with management or supervisory experience preferred, may be substituted with high school Diploma and experience.
  • Minimum Experience: At least four (4) years experience with minimum of one of those years in administrative activities, budget development and maintenance, and supervising people preferred
  • License, Certifications, Registration: Must be able to be bonded as a Public Notary.
  • Equipment/Tools: Computers, Multiline telephone system, Copier, fax machine, shredder
  • Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
    • Computer Skills, good human relations and oral/written communication skills. Knowledge of medical terminology.  Familiarity with hospital environment and clinical procedures.  Must possess organization skills and the ability to handle information of a confidential nature and exercise good judgment on an independent basis.  Possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with varying personalities and must remain calm, tactful and diplomatic at all times.  Possess the ability to work independently and maintain accountability for work.
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out details but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
