Specialty Nurse Manager
Position Summary: Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates the overall clinical nursing practice of case management and specialty field clinics on a daily basis. Works closely with other members of the Primary Care Clinics Leadership Team to develop superior care for the area served. Coordinates with healthcare professionals in all departments to provide quality and cost-effective care. Fully supports the Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation’s Mission Statement.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Must have completed a program of education in nursing from and NLN approved institution. BSN, MSN or Master’s degree in a health care related field preferred.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of two years of management experience with five years of clinical nursing experience preferred. Case Management experience preferred. Related experience considered.
License, Certification, Registration: Must be licensed in good standing in the State of Alaska as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Current BLS. Will be required to pass and maintain competencies for this position.
Equipment/Tools: Must have computer skills needed to access electronic medical records and general knowledge of regular office equipment.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of regulatory agency standards related to health care organizations. Cognitive and technical knowledge required with the ability to manage care across the continuum of care. Must be flexible with work schedule and possess the ability for independent actions within prescribed limits.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervision of Primary Care Case Management staff and Specialty Field Clinic staff.
