Admissions Manager

Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corp Bethel, AK (Onsite) Full-Time

Position Summary: 

This position oversees daily operations of the Patient Registration, in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital.  Responsible for all admissions, discharges, transfers, registrations, for patients receiving services at any of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation's patient care facilities or outlying Village and Sub-Regional Clinics. Sets, oversees, and maintains uniform policies and procedures for Patient Registration, throughout the Corporation. Coordinates with other Revenue Cycle departments (Coding, Medical Records, Utilization Management, and Patient Accounts) to ensure efficient financial management and reporting at YKHC.

Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Health Related Field or Business preferred, Associate Degree with management or supervisory experience may be substituted. Computer literacy required.  College level course in Medical Terminology required.  
  • Minimum Experience: 
    • ​One to two years Health Care experience, preferably in a hospital or corporate Business Office. 
    • Two (2) years managerial experience of 7+ employees in a health care setting.  Two (2) years registration & patient resources experience. 
    • One (1) year experience dealing with health insurance companies. 
    • One (1) year in customer service.   
    • One (1) year bookkeeping. 
    • Two (2) years PC computer experience or college credits including DBase, MS Excel and Word.  
  • License, Certification, Registration: Competency training within 1 year of Revenue Cycle Training 
  • Equipment/Tools: Experience using printers, photocopiers, fax machines, and multi-line phone systems.
  • Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Typing speed of 50 w.p.m, 10-key calculator by touch.  Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills.  Alphabetical and numerical filing experience required.  Experience using printers, photocopiers, fax machines, and multi-line phone systems.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Up to 20 Employees.
