Interim Health Aide Support/Uqisqiun CRT
Position Summary:
Provide crisis and emergency response to individuals, health aides, first responders, and community and family members. Travel upon short notice to the villages of the YK Delta. Provide Uqisquin services after tragic events. Provide community presentations on suicide prevention. Assist affected individuals with accessing needed services.
Position Qualifications:
To perform this successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Minimum Education: High school diploma/GED. Associate’s degree in human services or related field preferred.
- Minimum Experience: One year experience working in behavioral health or emergency response preferred.
- License, Certification, Registration: Uqisqiun Trainer, within six months.
- QPR Trainer, within six months
- Equipment/Tools: Must have basic computer knowledge, and standard office equipment usage skills.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills: •
- Ability and willingness to travel around the YK Delta villages on short notice for crisis and/or emergency response.
- Knowledge and understanding of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) techniques, as applied to Uqisquin
- Ability to provide Crisis BH assistance and referral information and support to adults in various states of emotional and mental turmoil.
- Excellent human relations; ability to direct and coordinate staff and staff training and development; good verbal/written communications skills, word processing, spreadsheets; ability to treat clients and co-workers courteously and fairly. • Knowledge and understanding of the impact of crisis, mental illness and emotional distress on individuals and their families.
- Respect for the well-being and safety of individuals with mental and emotional impairments.
- Yupik/English bi-lingual preferred
- Supervisory Responsibilities None .
