Patient Accounts Clerk

Position Summary: 

To provide effective, accurate and timely processing and follow-up of corporate reimbursement from commercial insurance carriers, Worker’s Compensation, Medicaid, Medicare, and patients.   Responsible for training and assisting in all routine actions required in resolving account balances.

Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.  College level course in Medical Terminology desirable.
Minimum Experience: Six (6) months computer experience - IBM (or compatible) computer experience or class credits including MS Excel and Word.  Alphabetical and numerical filing experience.  
License, Certification, Registration: N/A
Equipment/Tools: Experience with printers, photocopiers, fax machines, and multi-line phone systems.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Typing speed of 45 w.p.m. and 10-key by touch.  Applicant must have very good mathematical skills.  Ability to speak Yup’ik preferable.  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  Accuracy and dependability a must.  Interpersonal and communication skills required to interact with medical/clinical personnel on a routine basis.  Required to meet monthly deadlines to ensure prompt payments.  Applicant must demonstrate very good time-management and organizational skills which are required to maintain efficiency in meeting day-to-day expectations.
